“Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds…”
- Redemption Song, Bob Marley
I had my first taste of Bob Marley at a coffee house while living in a small college town in Southeastern Ohio. Part of the Appalachia region and just down the road from the infamous “Meigs County” Marley was only one of the artists that the rebellious college students could relate to.
So I found comfort today as it is announced that Rohan Marley, son of the legendary musician, has founded Marley Coffee with partner Shane Wittle and is continuing his father’s legacy.
The 5 coffee blends offered are: ‘Mystic Morning’ Wake Up Coffee Medium Roast, ‘Simmer Down’ Organic Swiss Water Decaf, ‘One Love’ Organic Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, ‘Lively Up!’ Organic 5 Bean Espresso Blend and ‘Jammin Java’ Organic Bold Full City Roast.

For coffee drinkers “All of the company’s coffee is certified organic, with the beans sourced from the highest Class One Specialty grade. Additionally, each bag has Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, a coffee bean picked by hand and known for its distinctive floral bouquet, rich body and smooth taste.”
As for me, I am going to place an order for the guys at the office and hope my ‘Survivor’ cd and isn’t too scratched. So if you appreciate this initiative, hop on over to marleycoffee.com where Marley Coffee is currently available for purchase online. If you can take a few moments, there is a great mini-movie under the Video tab.
Now I must make some ‘No Woman No Cry’ Lipton Tea. Good times.
